What would cause audio buzz?

I have a fairly severe audible buzz coming through my speakers. What causes this? I was just thinking about taking it back to the place that installed my system for me and have them figure it out. However, if it's simple, I'll take a crack at it.

Also, it's heard with the engine on and off.

I would take it back--if you paid to have a system installed you should expect better than that.

Probably a ground loop somewhere... If the shop isn't worth a shit they'll say they can't find it and won't fix it, so be sure to be pretty persistent.

Thanks guys. I'm sure I could fix it, but I have a lifetime warranty with the install. Might as well take advatage of it.

The fact that it's present with the engine off is interesting...
