What size amp ?

Okay I need help finding a good amp for my 2 SSA Icon 12's.
There in a ported 4 cube box. Wired for 2ohms

If someone could give me. Couple examples of a good amp it would be a huge help.
Thanks, zack

Well, couple ways to go. You could get a mono amp that is 1ohm stable and just run it 2ohm, which would end up with less power but run cooler.. or you could go with a 2ohm stable sub amp as well.

Budget and maximum size need to be determined before good recommendations can come.

Alpine mrp2000
soundstream rub 2500
sundown 3000(used)

Shoulda went with 2 dual 4's. Finding 2000 @ 1 ohm is pretty easy and cheap..2 ohms not so much.

Good choice, but that comes out to $440 + double the wiring...

Plus they're not strappable...

OP, what's your electrical look like? If it's decent, you could get an SAZ-1500D and run it at .5 ohms. Those regularly go for $300-350 for very nice ones used, and will make the power you need.

First, quit calling an amp by its wattage. Most likely that number is total bullshit anyway, especially if its the number stamped on the damn plate.

Second, any amp that is 1ohm stable is also 2ohm stable.

Better thrown in the Exact Model and Make for Reference, Then post watts "RMS" that its what matters.

Bingo.

Also.. dude do you see Sonic's prices on those MB Quarts all around? holy moly I wish they fit my current install needs for size. Those prices are insanely good for that level of amp. CEA-2006 rated, the whole lot, and the build quality especially on the higher end ones is not a joke.

Side note: If you can find one on eBay, I really liked my Soundstream DTR series amps I had. There are a few models with HUGE power and they like 2ohms and 1ohm as well. I had the DTR 1.1700, a 1700W RMS 1ohm stable amp that did rated, and only needs a tiny footprint of space.
