What is the name of the connector on this cable?
Hello all i am working on a 2005 TSX non Nav and trying to put a new antenna in for my hd radio so i can leave my standard am/fm radio's antenna alone since it sucks. Can you please look at the picture and tell me

1) What is the name of the connector on this cable
2) Do they make this kind of cable with a male on 1 end and a NON powered antenna on the other end?
3) Do i need to have a powered antenna or can i use a non powered antenna for my HD radio
Thank you for your time
Eddie

I think it's just an antenna connector. That's the only place I've ever seen them used. There's that size and there's a bigger one that you see on CB radio antennas. You can get the connectors at Radio Shack. As far as the antenna goes, I would find the antenna first then look into what's on the end of the wire. I don't think that type of connector ever supplies power though.

It's known as a "Motorola" connector FWIW http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola_connector
...and you should post this in the A/V forum
