Went to visit Ron ar SFX and bought a system
First let me thank Eldo and a few other people who gave me their 2 cents on amps and speakers for my TL.
So this is what I got (and it will be installed in 3 or 4 weeks based on my schedule):
DLS Iridium 6.5" components
DLS MW110 Magnesium cone sub (10")
DLS Ultimate A5 3 channel amp (for the sub and components)
The front doors are going to be dynamated, the sub is going to be put into a sealed box with the amp hidden and a wall in the trunk. The sub is 4 ohms and will get 300w continuous from the A5 (the amp will put 500w into 2 ohms and 700w into 1 ohm, so its got more than enough juice for another sub (or 2).
Since my Alpine 9853 has a good EQ and time correction built-in, no external processing will be necessary.
It came in about $300 more than I expected, but considering the reputation of DLS, SFX and the fact that cheaper parts wouldn't save me all that much $, I busted a nut and went big.
I'll post pics once its finished.
