Weird issue w/ ipod and stereo

I've been using my ipod connected through an alpine ipod connector to my dash....

recently my dash responds by "searching" for my ipod. I tried using my friends and it works....and I restarted mine several times.

Suggestions...???

What deck and what generation Ipod? That sounds strange. I never had any problems with my 9884...

is your friends the same gen ipod? have you ran the diagnostics on the ipod to make sure all the hw is working correctly? (http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/ip...de/index.shtml)

My Ipod is a 5th gen video, and I ran it on my buddy's 9884 and other friend's 9886 (actually who I bought the Ipod from) and they never had any problems with it. This sounds very strange.
