hello i have an acura tsx 05 and i was going to change the cd player in the car and i was just wondering if this can be done at all. I wanted too put in an after market alpine head unit with the screen and i was wondering if this can be possible at all.

 

Replacing it is not an easy task. There is no metra kit for our cars, and you cannot remove the radio entirely, since the head unit also controls the cars HVAC system. However, if you would like to use an aftermarket deck, that's no problem, just run it in addition to the stock one. You can get the "MP3 player attachment kit" acura sells, which is just the mounting kit without the actually mp3 player deck, and you can mount a standard DIN deck in there. Its up to you what you want to do after that, but the sky is the limit. You can search through the forum and see what others have done.

You cannot get rid of it entirely, it runs critical interior functions like HVAC and satellite linkage. However, you can get creative. 1 member had a custom audio shop fiberglass a display over it which as linked to an AVIC Z1.

If you really want to go super custom, I'd suggest going to your local shop and asking them about what they can do, and starting from there.
