wanna keep stock hu, but . . .HELP!!!!
Alright, been reading a few posts, and here was wut I was planning on doing. (most of this stuff is coming out of my old car)
1) replace the front speakers w/ MB Quart Reference separates
2) replace the rear speakers w/ 6.5" Eclipse point source
3) remove all stock amps and speakers, replace w/ Eclipse 4 channel plus ppi sub amp
4) BP-12 Alumapro Bandpass enclosure
Now my question comes from this as I am not a pro audio man, when i just did the sub set-up in my old car in an attempt to keep the stock deck, I ran into some problems with the amp popping whenever I turned on the radio. (old car was a 97 RL) Yes I know why this happens, so don't explain it to me. What I wanna know is, will this happen when I run this set-up? What about engine noise for keeping the stock head unit? My friend who is an installer said that the only way I could keep this from happening is to go ahead and only do the subs. Running after market speakers will cause engine noise and pops. . high level converter is required, he says.
OK, then I went to another installer friend of mine, and he said he has some kinda bose - aftermarket interface system, but it costs like 300 bucks. . Basically converts the bose deck to RCAs. . . Am I gettin ripped off? Who makes it? I got quoted for the above install for around 900-1000 bucks. . I personally feel it's a bit too expensive. . .
Thanks for all the help guys

Deck already has pre-outs. Get yourself a service manual lookup "stereo system" and you'll see there are pre-outs coming from the deck (not RCAs, but with a little bit of solder and cable, you can change that).. There is an EQ in a signal loop with the deck...
If you're capable of soldering a few cables together, you can make your own wiring harness to bypass the stock bose eq (located behind NAV display/AC controls on 2002 model in centre console).. That's what I'm doing, the stock EQ has the sub output x-overed at around 40-50 Hz, which is unacceptable for me. It also does some funky signal processing (compressing, expanding, etc..) at high volume levels. at < 3/4 volume, my MB Quarts sound awesome (Deck power too!).
