Red face Volume issues using Starmate and SHOND3?

Every since i got the Starmate Sirius tuner, and the SHOND3 unit, the sound is 50% less then CD's or Radio or OEM XM, any issues or fixes to this that you know of, using RCA cables.

Per Directed, no Starmate audio problems are known about. (E-mailed a buddy there about your situation).

If you have a mini-headphone to RCA cable adapter, try taking that from an iPod or a CD Walkman into the SHOND and see if you have the same issue. If those are a lot louder it's the Starmate. If it's the same it's either the SHOND or your own calibration.

It might be fixable with a line driver, but I'd t-shoot it some more first.

We've tied in a StarBASE into a Acura and had no issues...volume was fine.

Supposedly next to the Line Out on the Starmate there is a Volume control... I'm supposed to ask if you've adjusted this?

See page 7:

http://www.sirius.com/pdf/manuals/Starmate_ST1.pdf

On page 29 it says that the volume default is 70%, btw.

So you bought a new unit. That's troubleshooting for you.
