visor monitors

Is there anyplace that makes visors with the monitors already in them so I could just buy them and swap?

Or if not, whats the best way to go about putting a couple visor monitors in? Just buy the monitors and take them to a shop?

are these the hard plastic ones, or are they fabric. I am really looking into these but I think the plastic ones really cheapen the look of the car....

I dont mind if the lcd is housed in plastic (like the top pic above), but I assume the visors he is describing are ENTIRELY made of plastic (no fabric anywhere on the visor). I have not seen the ones you have, but have seen other plastic visors and was not impressed. Hopefully they look better that what I have seen.

The 5.8" widescreen monitors kits (the one in the first pic I posted above), are $223.99 w/wireless remote. We charge $75 per visor to install them, but a DIY'er can definitely do it.

Price depends on the monitor you go with in the second pic. That's a older screen, 4:3 aspect ratio, we mostly do 16:9 widescreens now. We charge $250 per visor for labor for that kind of flush install since we modify the visor, coat it in foam, and have a new factory color matched cover made for it. Again, depending on the screen, you could easily spend $600 and up for a good screen with all the labor.

Ooh how bout a visor monitor that has a mirror finish on it, so when the monitor is turned off, it's a mirror? The wife's gotta have something to check her makeup with.

That's one of the only reasons I don't have them yet.

Girlfriend is always in the mirror. :-*

NO, that's just a TL visor with a visor monitor kit in it.
They make a COMPLETE UNIVERSAL visor with a screen in it. It's all plastic and kinda cheap looking.

yeah like red said, something is wrong there.

when I was looking at 7 inch monitors the best price I found was something like $550 per monitor installed.

Here is a dumb questions ... what in the world are these used for? You can't drive and watch TV with the visor down. Just curious.

I don't think there is much of a practical use. I guess your passengers could watch tv/dvd or something.

Its 99% for show.
