Video screens?

Hi everyone, I've been reading the forums for a while and I find them very informative. I have an '01 CL-P w/o navigation.

My question is about video, besides the one install in the note holder, has anybody got any advice on mounting a screen on the notepad? Also, is there anywhere I could get the heating controls from a car with Navigation and perhaps mount a screen where the nav system would go.

Or, does anybody know where I could just get a navigation system (at a good price) to use that kit that I've read about on?

I'm thinking about getting this for my cls w/o navi...

I used to have a flip out screen but I didn't really like how it blocked the a/c controls...didn't like having a giant thing moving around on my dash either.

I actually found a place that sells the heater controls for the CL w/ Nav, so I could put a screen in where the Heating control is now. I'll probably use plexiglass for the surrounding area.

Here are the controls, http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...catdisplay.jsp

I also dislike the flip out screens, so hopefully this is doable.

$350 for the heat/ ac control thing damn

but yeah if you want to go all out that would look good. don't think anyone has done that before.

why don't you see if you can just buy the stock navigation plastic trim too, so you wouldn't have to build the plexiglass?

Yeah, I might try that. Of course, the Nav screen is pretty small.

Gotta file those taxes...LOL

Now that I look, I think the nav screen uses the same opening as the climate control, maybe if I just made some sort of bracket, and got a screen that fit in the same opening...

Well, I actually have to look at the car, and unfortunately I'm at work right now

It has been before. Someone move the climate control down to where the radio is and mounted a 7" screen in the dash area.

Why dont you guys do what I did if you have a flip-out screen? Mount the screen in the radio area with it open all the time.

Something like this?

thats the same idea as the Kenwood that I posted in the beginning...its a double din screen that just fits in there without having to come out and cover up any controls.

I look at the Kenwood and I like it. The only problem it may have is theft.

With my old setup, I cut a blank piece of abs (fake wook trim look alike), mount a frontal portion of a detachable face of an old CD player in the middle. If I have to leave my car at unsafe areas, I just put that piece up. You cannot do that with the Kenwood screen since the display stick out a little.
