Using stock speaker wires.....

I am putting my system in this week. I am way too lazy to run new wires. In my last car I had my system in twice, once I ran my own wires and once I used the factory wires. Couldnt tell the difference. My friend owns a radio shop and he swears there is no difference. What did you guys do, and what have you heard about this.

well i guess it depends on what you are actually planning on doing... if you are planning on putting new door speakers in and running them with an aftermarket amp i would definately suggest you run new wires... the stock wires are way to thin to be able to hand any kind of real power without serious loss.... but if you are just upgrading the speakers and not running them with an amp i would say that it would be a waste of time to run new wires... but in the end it all comes down to if you are happy with the sound and if so who cares what anyone else would do....

I had the same question a while ago. I finally decided not replace the factory wires in the doors because of the pain in the arse factor relative to the gains.

Check this out

ought oh! Iggy, you just opened the can of worms again... But that's OK, we know a lot more now about the hassle involved and the results achieved, than we did back then. But I think I hear both of our names being paged again....

SouthIggy and associates consulting group? hahahahaha

Good luck reading through the above thread link everybody! It's a book that never ends....
