Using power inverter for loud tower speakers.

If you hook the inverted to the battery directly & keep the engine running you should be ok. As long as you don't go over the max rating of the inverter.
I've run a DJ speaker with a mono 400W amp with no problems on my old Explorer.
You may want to look at a small generator though. In fact hurricane season is almost here it may be a good thing to have for other uses. It's tax deductible, & if a hurricane hits FEMA may give you $ for it.

Would a 6hp genarator be enough?
