Using Navi screen as PC monitor

Hi all. Well, I got my 03 TL last August and I love it but I did not get Navi, and I wish I did now. I have a Navi screen lying around that I can use but I am not sure it will work for what I want. For me, going full Navi is cost prohibitive since I already have a laptop and a GPS but is it possible to hook the laptop video out to the Navi screen and just use the Navi screen as a monitor? It would be easy to get the dash bezel and A/C control and have it look nice but I am not sure about the electrical connections. A PC outputs its video in red, green, blue, H sync and V sync through the common 15 pin VGA connector, can I use this? I also have an adaptor to convert VGA or S-Video to composite for use with an aftermarket 5 inch monitor but it is junk, no resoloution. I see some people use adaptors to be able to use DVD players on the Navi screen but I don't want to put too many adaptors in-line if I don't have to. Thanks, Eric.

It's not as simple as you think.

I think you better off with a standalone 7" VGA LCD screen (cost about 300-400 bucks).

You can use the Navi converter from avelectronics and then connect the pc video out to it. Or you can also try and find an old pioneer rgb converter.

Yes you can do that but spending 500 bucks for that avelectronics or hunting for the Pioneer RGB and display text from any computer through an RCA video will look like crap (specially on that tiny screen). If you are using for GPS, i don't think you can even read any text of it. Graphic is OK though.
