hey guys, i've been coming across some deals on ebay, and used amps are so much cheaper than new ones. but what am i looking for in a used amp that would tell me that it is no good?? i mean, what is it about using an amp that makes its quality go down? i would love to save $$, but at the same time don't wanna end up taking the shaft cuz of something in front of my eyes i didn't notice. any help is appreciated.

 

well, your not gonna be able to know until you see it. once you get it and you see burned components then you got shafted. but im sure the seller wont say that in his auction. my opinion, get your stuff from the guy with the highest feedback and use paypal and get the insurance so if it is jacked up you can get your money back

 

There are many good deals to be had on used amps. tpatel is correct, just stick with someone with alot of feedback and a very high percentage, 90% minimum. Also, make sure they have been registered for a while. Just do a little as much research on the seller as you can. Maybe send them a couple of questions and see how they respond.

 

Buying used anything when it comes to stereo's is a crap shot. Either buy from a good seller or buy something a little smaller new. PM me if you need an amp, I am a car stereo dealer.

 

i bought my JL 500.1 amp used for 225 and it works perfectly. i dont think id buy a used sub though.
