Sounds like you might not have the remote power lead from your H/U connected to the remote power lead on your wiring harness. Basically, you're powering up your H/U, but not your Bose amp, hence no sound.

Sorry to bring this back to life, but it specifically pertains to my problem. I am currently installing a Kenwood HU into a 2001 Acura CL Type-S. My car has a Bose system w/o nav. I want to remove the stock bose hu and use the Kenwood, also I am installing a subwoofer and amp in the trunk. The link in post 3 does not work anymore. I cannot get the speakers to work, and I have triple checked that I have the correct harness adaptor. I have ran the amp turn on wire from the adaptor into both the remote wire and the amp cont. wire and neither time did the speakers turn on. I am stumped on this, I have a lot of experience with Nissans, but barely any with Hondas/Acuras. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Zack

I don't know because I don't know where it is. Its my friend's car and he won't buy a chilton's. I can't find an fsm online either. I know that the wire for amp turn on is getting power from the deck into the harness. I also know that there are no blown fuses, atleast in the 3 fuse boxes.

I just swapped my stock BOSE H/U for my Kenwood Double DIN one... I had the Kenwood already fitted with the correct harness but found I needed to connect the AMP TURN ON wire from the head unit to the Acura PIN for REMOTE IN... In order to power up the amp.
Did you stock system work prior to installation? If so I would assume your factory amp is functioning.
One side note.... I was stupid and just followed a DIY (I don't remember where, and I was using the Antenna lead from the head unit instead of the Amp Turn On one... hence my radio tuner worked fine but when I switched to CD or iPod, I had no sound (because the "antenna" was being powered).
