Tweaking stock stereo for aux 3.5mm input

Is it possible at all? I have 02 TL-S whose stereo as you know is pretty old. I wanna be able to plug in my smartphone and routed the sound to the car speaker. Thanks!

Okay I found some research and found some info. THere is a part called PXDX that might into TL. Could someone answer if TL-S 02 equipped with built-in CD changed or not (with the case of former, then device will not be compatible).
I someone could post the backside connectors picture here, that will be a gigantic help. Thanks!

well it is got 6 CD player slot in-dash. But what i dont know is that CD changer is separate or not. The compatibility for this part says ACURA TL 2nd gen is compatible but then says it is not compatible with player with built-in CD changer.

If TL 2nd gen all has built-in CD changer, then why they say it is compatible with 2nd gen in the first place.

honestly i think those AUX inputs are a waste. you could just spend the same or a little more and get a new head unit.

i use a $20 tape deck AUX adapter from Monster and it sounds more than exceptional. though it also depends on what smart phone you have. Sound quality improved greatly after switching from my old Samsung Eternity to my new iPhone 4.

but thats just my opinion. do whatever floats your boat...

I could be wrong b/c I'm more a CL guy but I believe the 2nd gen goes from 1999-2003 and the earlier 1999, 2000 and 2001 1/2 had the single in dash radio. I believe later 2001 they came out with the 6 disc in dash.

They are more expensive but the sound quality is better and it's a much cleaner install than a tape deck. Aftermarket radio is a option if you want to go that route but you would lose, without modification, steering wheel controls, sub, navigation voice prompts etc.
