turn off noise
turn off noise
I cant get rid of a thump turn off noise I get when I turn off my head unit. 1st I had the rca's hard wired from the head unit to the amp and thats where it started. Then I tried using rockford fosgate line output converters from the stock amp speaker outputs...I still had the noise plus I lost all bass so I rewired rca's back to the head unit low level outputs (whats a system with out bass). Can somebody help me out of this turn off noise rutt?
"Here's your explanation:
When the doors close, or amp thumps on turnoff, it sends a pressure wave towards the speaker the LOC is connected to. This moves the speaker cone and generates electicity back towards the LOC, this energy (signal actually), gets converted to line level and fed to the amplifer. Since the amplifier has capacitors on the power, there is residual stored energy, the amplifier is still working. This signal is then amplified, played through the subs, into the speakers where it is 'fed-back' to the amplifier causing runaway. It's like walking in front of a PA system with a microphone, in this case the speaker the LOC is connected to is the microphone.
Hope this helps.

That is the explanation that erik gave me.
