TSX w/ polk speakers

Has anybody put in polks with the stock amp in the TSX yet? I put polks in my old integra and loved them, but I had an aftermarket stereo. Just curious if anybody had tried them to see how well they worked witht the stock amp. Thanks in advance for the help.

I did do a search, but I guess I was just looking for a little more info. Maybe specifics on how satisfied people were with their setup and if leaving the amp stock was significantly underwhelming. If anybody wants to chime in with specifics that's awesome, but as my question is pretty specific I might be better off talking with some sort of vendor. Thanks for taking the time to compile those thread references.

edit: I had not refreshed before I posted the above response. Thanks so much for all your help and I think I'm going to go with the polks. The members of this board have always shown a great propensity to help others out and it really makes for a great environment. Thanks again.

I didn't install Polk, but if you're doing it yourself this is a good "how to" thread - I posted my most recent lessons learned on the last page. Just did the install last weekend. Good luck!

I appreciate it man. I am going to do it myself, so I'm sure that your thread will come in handy. By the way, Spinal Tap is easily one of the greatest movies of all times.

If you stay with the factory amp keep in mind that the front channels (doors and tweeters) are crossed over in the amp. In other words, you won’t be able to use the crossovers that come with the speakers and will have to accept the factory xover point. Also, the front door channels are not full range, I think I measured the xover at around 8k. This might not be a good xover for your components. Do some more searching; both Castles_Saloon and I have posted good tech info on the amp.

If you decide to go after market with a new amp, we got you covered.

Thanks! I think so too. Good luck with your install! Most of the difficulty was with the parts and my lack of understanding of what all was needed (spacer, wire adapters). I just went with 2-way Infinity 6012i speakers in all four doors. I notice a bit more help on the high end with them (probably from the rear doors). The OEM speakers are 1-way, all identical (with a joke for a magnet). I'm really happy with the result. I'm not discriminating enough (or motivated, or have the money) to do a more exotic replacement with new amps and crossovers. I think the new speakers with the OEM stereo and amp gave me the improvement I was looking for, all for less than $260 in parts.
