TSX Upgrade suggestions?

I am somewhat of a newbie to car audio. I like the TSX setup as is, in terms of speaker positions and crossover effect, I just don't like how woefully underpowered the system is, especially the XM reciever. I've been doing some browsing all through here and really haven't found an answer to my question. Is there a way to buy a single amp and power all 8 speakers? If you can, how would you set it up? The largest channel amp I've found is 6-ch. So I can see how you'd set up the 6 speaker set up, but how would I ensure that each speaker is powered correctly, while using all the amp's potential...i.e. sending most power to the 6x9's, least amount to the tweeters. Sorry if this sounds convluded, bottom line I'd like the same setup with more power. Any suggestions?

IMHO if you use a more powerful amp you'll blow out the OEM spakers.

True, and I don't mind replacing the speakers either. I just can't seem to peice together an aftermarket setup that works like the 8 channel amp with a built in crossover without having multiple amps involved.

Don't know if there is an 8 channel amp you can use. Wait a couple of days and see if any of the pros (i.e. elduderino) chime in. Otherwise you can use the 6-channel amp and an aftermarket crossover for the front doors/tweets combination. Some will no doubt recommend you do away with the rear door speakers. Lastly, have you seen Elduderino's Avincar speaker kit?

Well, normally, you wouldn't wire tweeters onto separate channels. Like jlukja said, if you have aftermarket component replacements, just use the provided crossover. There, down from 8 channels to 6. He also mentions not using the rear speakers, which gets you down to 4. (Another alternative is to leave the stock amp there and leave the rears powered by the factory amp.) There, now you can use a common 4-ch amp.

(If you had a quality amp that was 2-ohms capable, you could even get away with putting both fronts and rears on one channel, so in theory you can use a 2-ch amp, but then you wouldn't be able to adjust it to your liking, such as having the rears louder, and any crossovers on the rear, if you wanted it just to play bass, would have to be using a passive crossover. So, I wouldn't recommend this, but I'm just making the point that you don't have to feel limited to a certain number of channels, because there are different ways to wire it. Just plan it out before you start buying!)
