Tsx Head-Unit CD Swap
Ok here it goes.. I have a 2004 TSX non navi and the CD player went bad... So I bought a used one off a 2005 and tried to take the CD Player off the unit and put it on the other one. What I get now is just a scrambled screen with no control whatsoever.. Anyone else run into this type of problem? Any help would be great I have the car in all kinds of pieces...

Sounds like you might of not plugged everything in properly. I would double check your connections inside the HU. I did a similar thing like you. I cracked my lcd and bought a used HU. I took the used lcd and installed it into my HU. If you can't get your cdplayer to work, let me know. I still have the used HU. I never tested the cd player, but the member I purchased it from said that everything still worked properly. Before you go the route of buying another one though, I would definitely double check all the connections again. If that doesn't work I would try installing the other HU you purchased and see if it works. Oh yeah, not sure if you did this or not, but do not swap any of the circuit boards. Only swap the actual player its self. Not sure, but it might make a difference.

It sounds like you might of solved it yourself. If everything is connected correctly, and everything thing works fine when you put the broken one back in...sounds like it must be a bunk cd player you purchased. Did you try temporarily installing the HU you bought with the cd player it came with?
