TSX DVD Player Upgrade (With PS2)
In about a month or so I'm going to be having installed Acura TSX 2004 iVES/DVD/MP3/CD Kit. The eBay dealer is actually the dealership I purchased my car from, so they're swinging me a deal on the install and hardware.
I'm curious if anyone else here has this installed in their TSX? Any thoughts? The 7" LCD is pretty large for a mobile screen. I'm curious how it sounds on the TSX stock sound system.
Also, I'm probably going to add a PS2 to it because it has Aux Video/Audio inputs on the head unit. I don’t much like the idea of placing it under either seats in the TSX because it pretty much eliminates any possible foot room that the back seat passengers might have had.
My gut instinct is telling me to install the PS2 into my glove box. I've yet to do the measurements, but I'm thinking I'll use a styrofoam mold to hold the PS2 in place in the glove box (with black fabric on the ext. surface to look seamless). Two obstacles I see immediately with my possible install is power and heat. I'll need to get a power line up into the glove box (or in the assembly behind it, which is pretty tight as is.
I'll also need to somehow not suffocate the PS2 and allow it to breathe when in use. Not to many options. I could arrange the styrofoam so it channels all the hot air back out the front up and away. It might be uncomfortable for the passenger.
I'm interested in getting everyone’s thoughts/feedback on this plan. Any and all comments/suggestions welcome
