Is it true about Clarion units...???

I am looking at getting a Clarion unit, but my local stereo shop told me that some of the Clarions have problems with dropping
signals....Now I am not sure wether to get this unit or not....

I installed a single din Clarion Pro into an Accord (about 8 months ago) and the player has one minor drawback- after long continuous playing times (1hr+), it will start skipping CDs every once in a while.

Well..

Well from what I have known in the past (could have changed by now), the Clarion's generally have a weaker tuner so that might be what the installer was referring to??

Alpine (my preferred HU of choice), and Kenwood (my other preferred HU of choice) have been known somewhat for their tuners. Now the question you have to ask yourself is how important the tuner is to you?? The Clarions have good CD pickups (generally), so basically I have yet to see (or I haven't found one yet) a perfect Head Unit.

I have heard of the same problems with Clarion at my local dealer. While several years ago I would have supported Clarion, I no longer do. Instead, however, as someone ealrier in the post suggested I recommend Alpine as number one and then Pioneer and Kenwood as equals, next.

if you wanna save money go with clarion but i highly suggest spending the extra money on eclipse, kenwood, or pioneer. at least you get the quality you want and it lasts

i have clarion dxz615 (99') it has almost pefect cd quality but there magi tuner that is advertized sux, clarion is usually a good buy for all around quality, and even though there warranty has many limitations once you get on the phone cust. service will do just about anything to keep a customer

i hit mine really hard by accident and even though it was my fault i somehow got sent another one(said it didn't work since i bought it) no questions asked
