TL-S too much bass already !
I think the TLS has too much bass already i have to set the bass setting to -3.
It really could benefit from a couple of tweeters.
Any ideas how to add couple of tweeters easily ??

too MUCH bass????
That's the first time I heard someone say that about the stock BOSE system......:p
I thought the system wasn't too bad for an OEM, but it is, ultimately, a weak system. The stock amp in the 2000 is rated at 180 watts and the rear sub is 100 watts. :o Whenever I listen to most jungle tapes/CD's I have to turn the bass way down because the sound gets all distorted.

too much bass!!! lol
best cure for "bassy" stock TL-S sound system:
1000wx2 amp, two or more 15s in a box, crank up, and enjoy.
(whilst pointing at your ears and mouthing the words "I can't hear you!!!")

I think I know what the OP is talking about... After having a JL Audio microsub in my Integra for years, the stock Bose system's subwoofer sounded very muddy. It's not that the bass is weak, it's just not tight -- boomy and echoing, almost buzzing. Maybe to someone who never had a subwoofer at all in their car it seems like the bass is too high. It's not high -- it just SUCKS!

The stock sub will sound louder because there is a lot of distortion being outputed along with the resonance from the trunk/body. Distortion sounds louder due to it having higher frequencies (3rd and 5th order) than the actual signal meant to play - the higher freqs are easier to hear to the human ear which makes them more noticable and louder. A tight and very musical SQ sub/amp combo will not sound very loud but will be putting out a higher SPL than an equally sized system with a higher distortion level even though the distorted system will sound louder. Bassheads who listen to rap/hip-hop need a little distortion (by xing over at 150 or so) to get that boom boom sound at those loud levels while a SQ combo will sound quieter but it will be unidirectional meaning you cannot hear the origination of the sub unless your sub location is making everything around it vibrate which makes your installation crucial.
uh, to much bass from a bose? never heard of that before...ur bass is probably just muddy, which means that there isnt to much bass but it jsut sounds bad. tweeters wont help, u need better amps...bass is muddy cuz the speakers suck and there isnt enough power. talk to the street effectz guy hell know what to do.
