Thoughts on my computer install...?
Hi all,
I recently finished installing my mini-ITX system, wired to the ignition of my '01 CL, and wanted to show it off a little and maybe get some feedback. I have a journal of the entire process, but the finished product is pictured here: Acura ITX finished. If you want to check out the whole install procedure, you can follow any of the category links at the top-right of the page.
Basically the system is set up to do music (I have approx the equiv of a 300-disc changer) hooked into the Alpine HU, playlists, movies, gps, games (not currently implemented), bluetooth and sms (not currently implemented), OBD-II, and any computer apps I want to tie in, such as gas-mileage tracking, notepad, whatever. The computer uses a motorized touchscreen in the dashboard
Also, here's a direct link to the front-end interface I designed for it: Acura ITX front-end.
Just curious what everyone thinks of it.

I see you're using RR.. I just switched to that from CF (Centrafuse) and am liking it. I'm using the Freedom skin right now, but thought of creating my own over xmas break when I get some time.

Nice install! Glad you finished your project, I think I remember seeing you post over at the mp3car forums.
I like the skin and if i still had my CL, I probably would have asked for a copy, like the others on your website.. lol.
I really like the feature you added to have the screen 'dim' and show the 3 heads, just in case you get pulled over.
I user RR with my current setup.
Is that functionality built into RR or did you add that?
Thanks.

It's kind of built-in to RR, in the sense that it's just a screen like any other. I opted to make that entire screen a button, so pressing anywhere on it brings you back to whatever screen you were on prior to entering it. That, and some gamma adjustment for that screen, was all it took.
