Question Is there a high quality dash kit available?

I want to upgrade my headunit and am trying to locate a dash installation kit for my 99 TL. Anyone?

there is a company called Metra, which is the biggest dash kit distributor, that SHOULD be releasing one very soon. It should be ready, but not distributed yet.

Does any body have any information/pics of a custom dash kit. I have access to plasma cutting machine and have been throwing around the idea of designing the required parts on CAD and having a prototype brushed stainless steel kit manufactured. The plasma cutter can manufacture to very tight tolorances. Has anybody thought about this route yet. I would like to see some examples of the dash kits any of you have used. Can somebody post a pic?

Question

I've seen posts from guys with aluminum kits on their cars. What if you had someone send you their old head unit would that help to cut plastic parts to fit?

Plastic would not survive the plasma cutter. It would be hard to find plastic with matching color and texture anyway.

Can anybody point me in the direction of those aluminum kit posts?
