My buddy is putting a new system in his 96 GTI VR6 and needs some advice on what to do. He already has some MBQ 6.5 reference coaxials in the rear and some MBQ q series 5.25 components for the front. for subs he has a pair of xtant A1044's.

He is now wondering what he should use for power for his subs. He is trying to keep to a budget of around 250. You guys have been plenty of help to me so I figured you might be able to lend my buddy a hand. thanks.

 

What's he powering the mids/highs with?

 

just his deck for now. I tried to tell him to just wait a while and get soemthing like the jl 500/5, but he seems a bit impatient, so he is going to get his sub amp first then a four channel later.

 

Tell him to look on ebay for some Mmatts class D sub amps. They are one of the best sounding sub amps I've heard.
