Successful ipod install in CL-S!
Just wanted to toot my own horn by letting you know I just successfully hardwired in a blitzsafe ipod connector to the stock HU in a 2003 M/T CL-S. This was my first ever car project and everything went very smoothly and the adapter works great. I would highly recommend the blitzsafe HON M-LINK DMX v.1. It was just plug into the HU and your done, no wiring of any kind. Yeh...

I don't know about hooking it up to an aftermarket deck, but if there is an AUX input then you should be able to find an adapter that fits. As far as getting the blitzsafe adapter, just call blitzsafe directly and tell them what your car is and they should send you the appropriate adapter. Unfortuneatly their website kind of stinks and has almost no info on it.

If you have an aftermarket HU, it's pretty simple if you have an aux in. Just hook up the iPod via RCA and that should work. If you want to be able to control the iPod via the HU, then you need some sort of adapter made by the HU manufacturer

You have to have something hooked up to the aux input, when the ipod is plugged in, select CD (the display reads 1-99) if you have cd's in the changer then just push cd again and it functions as it would normally.

I just noticed this tonight driving home-the backlight for the clock is out, the clock works though, I will have to investigate as to if I blew a fuse or knocked something out.

Here are two basic pics of my install, I haven't decided if I want to leave the cord there or try to hide it more. I rarely use the cup holder, it is annoying to shift with a cup in there! I would never leave my ipod in the car and the black cord blends with the black interior so I am not so concerned with security, besides the cord is long enough so that I can easily tuck it under the seat if necessary.

A couple of tips specific to the 6 spd:
* Remove the Trim (as per pdf tutorial)
* Remove the screws from the console / storage area so that it is loose move the console back about 2 inches this will allow access to screws holding in the passenger side panel.
* Remove the passenger side panel (as per pdf tutorial)
* This will allow access to the wiring harness for the heated seats disconnect the wiring harness
* Now you can remove the console / storage area
* When you have both side panels off (as per pdf tutorial), you can remove the storage area under the coin holder just reach under it and pop it out as its just held in with clips.
* Remove the two screws hidden by this storage area they are farther back under the dash
* Unscrew the shift knob from the shaft
* The entire shifter assembly can then be removed have to take care to remove the wire for the power outlet as you take it out
* Everything else is the same as in the tutorial.
A number of people have been able to connect the interface without removing the stereo I can never seem to reach. I also wanted to house the interface behind the stereo and you need to do most of the work to access that area. PM me if you want a couple of pictures.
