check www.conceptconcept.com you won't find anything better! my opioion obviously. They Don't have any dealers around me (ontario, canada) but I am shipping in items from the states when I need them. Rather pay the shjipping charges tha be stuck with the typical "JL Wnothing" set-ups I see around here. Good luck with your search.

I have listened to so many different types of subs, and unlike mids and especially tweets, there really isnt that much difference - I mean within certain categories and price ranges.

Just get something that you like. You obviously dont want to go to walmart and get a "sub" or even BestBuy IMO. There are so many brands, I tell you the amp and box make a bigger difference than the sub itself. You can have a phat sub with a shoddy amp and box and you screw yourself. Personally you cant go wrong with JL Audio. They are a very good mid to upper range company. You take a look and listen to a new 12W7 and you tell me if you could imagine a better speaker.

My cash flow didnt like that W7 so I went with 2 W3V2's. I will post pics soon, but Im telling you, they sound great and when you want to bump it on rap or something they pound .

obviously ResidualFreedom, you see so many JL Audio systems because they are proven quality!!!

Well those speakers are totally different. The W3's are a good medium level sub. Not requiring tons of power, but they still have a larger excursion than others in its price range.

The W7's are God's gift to the world on a real badass sub. 1 W7 could out pound 3 normal 12's easy. They have extreme excursion capabilities yet still sound amazing. Basically if I had more money I would have gotten 1 W7, but the installer said that he could get 2 W3V2's to sound just about as loud and good as 1 W7 with the proper box.

the 12 inch W7 really needs about 500 (MIN) to 1000 watts to play it correctly and to its full potential. As you can see 2 W7's would be overkill - and you would need a new alternator to even come close to put out enough power.

My 2 W3's are great in the ported box, no need for any more.

I agree with OU on this. If you are looking at JL, a single W7 would be plenty. You could even do a single 12W6V2 and you would have plenty of bass. I have a single 12M6 from Diamond with a JL 500/1 and it is alot of bass. More than I would ever need.

Also, consider Image Dyanamics IDMAX. A single 10" or 12" sounds fantastic and are alot cheaper than W7.

2 W7's would be way too much unless you are trying to compete. 1 W7 would be way enough - also they are expensive. I would buy them from an authorized dealer. I wouldnt buy subs on Ebay or the internet just for warranty reasons. The retail is like $700 or so, but I talked the place that I got my subs from down to $500 for 1. I got the 2 W3V2's though.

The new W6V2's are nice, but I think they are too expensive and not that much better than the W3V2's. The store that I got my stuff from and installed by, has a 12 W7 in a box from JL Audio with the 1000.1 amp on it, and it is the loudest thing I have ever heard. The damn thing pumps back and forth nearly 3 inches:wow:. Its really sweet.

Either amp would be fine, a 1000.1 would look clean - if you care about having the same amp/sub combo. Doesnt really matter. Serriously you need to listen to these subs first before you get one, they really pound...more than you could imagine without hearing it in a car.

If you have two W7's you better get your alternator rewound cause you wont be able to power them correctly with the stock alternator. And if those dont "satisfy" you then you are crazy!

Agreed. One W7 is all the bass you would need if not competing. If anymore and you WILL have to completely overhaul your car's electrical system.

What's going on everybody?? You guys got some great info! I just bought myself an '01 Acura 3.2CL Type ¤ S and I'm lookin to throw a system in it. I have previously experienced the 12" W6v2 and LOVED it but had to sell it because of financial problems @ the time. As time progressed, I've come to love the sound 10" subs over 12s (just my preference...). Now I'm not looking for TREMENDOUS bass in my new setup, so I was thinkin of either 1 10" or 2 10" subs. If i'd get 2 10's, I was thinking about the w6v2's (or should i get the w3v2s?). OR, I've been seriously debating only getting 1 10" w7. I haven't heard em yet and was curious how 1 of these would sound. I am looking for GREAT SQ and just the right amount of bass, NOT TOO MUCH though! So, how would 1 10" W7 workout? Would the 500/1 be the best best for it as well? Also, will I need to get a cap or nah? Lastly, is custom making a box for it the best way to go? Thanks for your time!

`John
