Subwoofer and Amp installation
Subwoofer and Amp installation
I have a '01 CL with a bose audio system and i want to install an aftermarket sub and amp. I get power from the battery but to get the sound is where i get lost. I don't want to the wires to the individual amps on the back speakers. Is there a better way?

I just added a JL 10w6v2 and a JL 500\1 to my stock system a few days ago.
I tapped into the speaker wires for the rear deck speakers to get a signal for the amplifier, and used a line out converter so I had RCA's to run into the amp. Then I ran power from the battery, shaved off a spot in the trunk and drove a screw through it for ground, and remote I actually tapped off the stock Bose amp turn on wire. Everything works fine .. although it REALLY makes you realize how shitty the stock Bose mids and high's are. Sub really over powers everything. JL 300\4, 6.5 components and 6x9 coaxials to go in soon I hope

pretty much like blader said only u wont have to drill a hole in the trunk for ground. ya ever notice the trunk netting screws. just use those, ive never had a problem and saves an extra hole in the car.
