How much do you wanna spend. I believe in buying a new sub just casue of the warranty. A good cheap 10" I would just Kicker Comp Vr or a Alpine Type S. Both subs cost under 100 bucks.

the red sonys that are shaped like a pentagon sound pretty good too. just put one in my girlfriends car...for an inexpensive sub it sounds really nice.

check eBay...if you want to sacrifice the warranty you can pay about 40% less than retail...just make sure the shipping price isn't outrageous.

Also, are the infinity subs more or less equivalent to the JL w3 series subs?

It depends on the model. I would compare a W3 with a Infinity Kappa. If u want infinity go with a Kappa Perfect.

I have (2) Audiobahn ALUM10s for $100/pair if you're interested. They have solid spun aluminum cones, 160oz Strontium Magnets, Dual 3" Voice-Coils, 800-watt RMS, 1200-watt Max each. Very solid lows for their size. I never got a chance to get an amp above 400-watts (200x2) to really push them.
