i wanted to put a single 12" cerwin vega stroker sub in the trunk of my tl. Now is when a question popped into my head. What's the difference w/ a singe or dual voice coil? I need to know asap...thx for your help. It's gonna be in a custom fiberglass box.

When you have dual voice coils,it allows you to run you speakers at different ohms. The else ohms, the more power it will draw from your amp. Ex. Most woofers have dual 4 ohm voice coils, if you use both voice coils = your speaker is running at 2 ohm. (JLW6 is dual 6 ohms)
Translation= your amp pushes 200 watt at 4 ohm, and 400watt at 2 ohms.
