the switch is in line with the sub amp remote turn on and does turn on and off the sub amp... i think it has to do with how the 6x9 are tapped to the amp...any other suggestions???

the amp is getting signal from the 6x9s, OR is the amp powering the 6x9s?

as far as i know the amp is getting signal from the 6x9's, there is no way the amp is powering them , the 'tapped' lines are going to the amp input via the built in loc

any chance the by-nines are unplugged? When the sub is on it would push them around a lot and make them look like they are moving...

agreed, i will check it out today, my only indication that the 6x9s were on was a 'feel' test, which like you said could be affected by the subs anyway. thanks for the help everyone

To test it fully, you could also disconnect the sub from the AMP speaker terminal for a sec before you turn it on. That way you will only hear the x9s.
