ill be the 1st to state that this is too broad. it all depends on the brand and/or series of the sub. 10w7 vs a 12 audiobahn??

I'd say a 12" JL W3V2 would do it for most people.

in general:
10" - SQ
12" - SQL
15" - SPL

as i got older i moved from wanting pure SPL, to pure SQ, hence my sub pattern went like this:

12" (1, 300W) --> 15" (1, 1200W) --> 12" (1, 1000W) --> 8" (2, 400W)

with number of woofers, and wattage in parenthesis

so now my vote goes to < 10" , too bad that's not an option

Anything more than 10" hurts.

Anyway, smaller, faster and tighter > big and clumsy. A couple of 8s would be ideal.

I don't get why we need to post sex...

I like smaller subs cause I don't like it really boomy. More smaller subs = better than one big sub.

so would it make more sense to get 2 10's rather than one 18" sub?

Hertz Audio makes a 21" for the car. Clarion made a 34" once. RE XXX has 18"

1 10" is good for me. I don't like my car to rattle from the outside, that's ghetto. And it sounds good on the inside with hip-hop and rap. I don't like lingering boomy bass, I like the faster hits of the 10.

if those are the options, get 2 12's. I wouldn't even concider an 18. Plus you'd need so much watts to power that thing and unless you have a van, where the hell would it go?
