Sub preamp on new(er) Alpine receivers
I just picked up an Alpine iDA-X200. Could not get the sub preamp to send a low pass signal to my amp. Talked to Crutchfield technical support, they said the only way to send a low pass signal with an Alpine now is to buy the Imprint sound processor, for another $150.
What kind of bs is this? Isn't the whole point of a sub preamp to send a low pass signal? Any stereo I've ever owned has had a low pass filter built in...its pretty much standard fare. The whole receiver only cost $150, they want that much again just to access equalizer/crossover settings?!
Oh and... first post in a few years, hello to anyone around that remembers me

So after reading through your manual, it looks like Crutchfield was right... This is what happens when you don't do your research...
On the other hand, your amp should have a filter (or 2) built into it. This is how you can solve the problem...
