I think this is what's happening in my car right now because I have one 12" sub firing through the pass-through and the bass gets much louder and deeper when the trunk's open. The thing is, didn't someone else also install a sub firing through the pass-through without any problems, I believe it was scalbert.
And by sealing the sub off from the rest of the trunk do you mean I basically have to construct another "enclosure" around the sub and its enclosure and have it fire directly into the cabin through the pass-through? What a pain in the ass.
Maybe I should start another thread for my next question, but it's somewhat related to this topic. I also get a slight popping noise on some bass notes when I have the volume up loud, but the popping goes away once I open the trunk. It's a rare occurence with most of what I listen to, rock and hip-hop; but the one CD it always happens with is 50 Cent and with some tracks on the first DMX album. I've also spoken to someone else from the forum who gets a similar popping, mainly with 50 Cent, but their box is facing towards the rear of the car. I'm wondering what could be causing this, any suggestions would be appreciated. We've tinkered with the gain/sensitivity settings on the converter and the amp, but this doesn't help much unless you lower the bass to the point where it's practically pointless having a sub.
BTW, I have a 12W3v2 in a sealed box powered by a JL 250.1 with everything else stock.
