Sub Output on 2002 TL Deck

The stock system simply didn't cut it for me so instinctively I upgraded it.

Front: MB Quarts 1" Tweeter, 5.25" Mids No additional amp! Deck has plenty of power!

Rear: Bose, without any highs or lows. Merely fill speakers to bring the sound stage forward a couple of inches.

Trunk: 2 JL 10W6 running off a Rockford Punch m50.

Stock deck (2002 Acura 3.2TLS)

My problem:

The input to the stock bose sub amp (located behind the right rear seat (cheasy tiny amp in an aluminum can ... pure garbage by the way, fits nicely in your recycle bin), is crossed over at what apprears to be 40-50hz... It's a little too low.

Has anyone found a way to manually adjust the low pass filter on the deck? (bring it up to the 100Hz range)

My last resort is Pheonix Gold Crystal Line adapter, splice the rear high level speaker outputs to Crystal Lne and low level to my amp. I just don't want to induce any engine noice...None so far!

Thanks for your help.

Adam.

Speaking from a 2000TL, I was putting a 160Hz test tone thru my aftermarket sub via the preamp sub output behind the rear seat without a problem. I believe the xover for the sub is located on the underside of the rear deck on the load side of the Bose amp. I would be surprised if the HU is xing the sub output. In fact, the sub output from the HU doesn't even go thru the Bose EQ - it comes directly from the HU. But I don't know about the 2002.

What I did was, is physically disconnected the bose amp. The input I'm getting is spliced from the wiring harness (there is a shielded wire -- I forget which color I did it two weeks ago and my car has a back seat once again ) I also ran my own shielded wire into my amp. So unless there a xover somewhere on the lowlevel output from the deck (haven't seen that one before), I'm wondering if anyone was brave enough to modify the HU?

In all fairness now much more would it cost them to put full range RCA outputs on the head unit?
