Streeteffectz got a question or anyone???

I got the Alpine CDA 7897 in a 01 TL. Have u installed one of these or the CDA 7998 in a cl or Tl? IF so has it been giving u problems like not fliping out of the dash right. IN a about a month I am on the third deck and tommorow Ultimate Audio is gonna call alpine and have a talk wit them about the problem, when the deck was laid flat it had no problem coming out. Anything would help ron.

I've had my CDA-7897 for almost 3 months now and not a problem yet...it is in a 1999 Dodge Neon though.

I know I‘m probably not helping too much but I hear from a lot of people that Alpine units jam up all the time.

Is your unit still covered by warranty? If it is, make them replace it. If it still jams. Make them replace it again.

If you tell them it works on a flat surface but not in your car they might try to blame it on the install.

Nope, never had a problem, BUT, what I would check is the screws that hold it in the dash cage. I know plenty of places that have put screws in that are too long and end up damaging the inside of the unit. I have installed two 7998s in Acuras with NO problems whatsoever.

You know what. That may be the case. My Pioneer headunit (the one you sold me Ron ) has a motorized face. One day it wouldn’t open when I pressed eject. I took it out and loosened the screws a little and it worked okay after that. Maybe the screws you got too are long and damaging the tracks. If anything, change your screws to really short ones and see what happens.
