stock sound system

I'm not real good with the whole sterio system thing, so i may not know what I'm talking about. Everyone tells me that the bose system is crap, but the speaks seem fine to me, it's the lack of bass that gets to me. Is it possible to keep the stock speakers and just put in more bass in the back?

You can add a subwoofer to replace the current sub and get an amp to complement it

Or you can keep your sub and just add another one....I know our system doesn't have too much bass but that is the beauty of BOSE

I'll admit the system is pretty good for an OEM, but the sub is not so good. The problem is that it's too muddy.....on all my jungle CD's I have to turn the bass down to '0' or below.

Totally agree with you. The Bose system in my wife's old car ('98 Pathfinder) sounded much better than the one in the TL. Bass was much tighter and the Pathfinder's system didn't have a subwoofer.
