They are very fragile. I've had two of my in dash 6 disc changers jam up. Get rid of it!! Throw a double din screen in that mug!

the dealer said if i wanted to get an after-market head unit they would do that, but i would have to change all the speakers, being that it is a bose right?

That is false. You can use a PAC Audio OEM-2 to integrate into the BOSE system. This allows you to retain the factory amp and speakers. The OEM-2 is designed to use when installing an aftermarket deck into a BOSE or other amplified factory system.

It's not that bad IMHO. 3 CL's & only 1 had a jammed up player. It was fixed under warranty.
But I do hear of it more often on this board, but there are so many TL's with the same HU & you rarely hear of it from them.

They are about $50 and you should be able to find them at most car audio shops. There are 2 other pieces that you can substitute for the OEM-2 but are not as awesome. The Peripheral SVEN4 and the Install Edge IECPSI2. If you use the SVEN4 you may have "turn-on pop" or "turn-off pop" through your speakers. The other two parts give you a delayed amp turn that simulates the delay of the BOSE amp power up.

CORRECTION.....

The Install Edge IECPSI2 and the PAC Audio OEM-2 are the exact same part with a different casing. Best Buy carries Install Edge parts.

am i better off with an after-market, the dealer will prob give me only $500. I think thats how much they spent on the broken replacement they sent me. just had to invest in some steelies and winter tires. cant spend more than the money i get from them.
