steering wheel volume control

OK, So I am looking to upgrade the stereo in my new (to me) 2001 TL. I had a sweet alpine/infinity system in my Acura Legend with 2 12 incher's in the trunk and that package turned some heads. Anyway, I don't want to lose my steering wheel volume control. Any work arounds for this? I saw this..http://www.crutchfield.com/S-acNwgoc...SWIX&g=118900. Anybody have any experience with this product? Also, anyone who changed out their system, did you keep the speaker package, including the subwoofer? What would you do with the sub's space if you replaced it with a trunk system? I am not so much looking to impress with my sound as I was 4 years ago when I bought it for my legend, but I do love some good sound, and i already own a nice box/amp. All suggestions are welcome.

there are units out there to allow aftermarket headunits to be controled by the steering wheel controls. im not sure which one for your headunit. you may want to check with a local installer/seller to see which will work for you
