steering wheel remote
steering wheel remote
I just got the Alpine CDA-7893 headunit and was wondering if it was possible to wire the steering wheel remote to it. How do you do it?
oh and some dude said that if i put in the headunit and use the factory speakers my speakers will burn out in a few months...was he right or just trying to con me into getting new speakers?

steering wheel control
A company called PAC (Pacific Accessory Corporation) sells an interface called SWI-X which you can program your aftermarket radio to your steering wheel on your TL.
Hope this info helps.

those swi units require the use of a remote control (for programming the unit) and a headunit that is remote capable. you basically wire one end of the SWI unit to the steering wheel controls and then mount the other infrared eye sending unit somewhere in front of the headuit where it can see the signal. programming the unit means pressing a button and then pressing a remote function.
i have not done this before, but that's basically it.
