Steering Wheel Controls

Has nybody had problems with their steering wheel controls for the audio? Whenever I hit any of the buttons it will either advance the track, preset, etc. or it will increase the volume. Anybody have suggestions other than take it to Acura... would reseting the setero be helpful at all?

A couple times when it was really cold out I would increase the volume, but it would change the station, only happened twice so I didn't do anything.

Had this problem before. if your car is under warranty, take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it. They have to take out the stearing wheel and take the ground O ring in the streering column and put 8 notches from inside to outside. When the temperature is cold this ring contracts and it losses it ground contact and in effect it renders the radio controls inoperable. With the notches in it it will still contract but the bumps from the notches will keep the contact integrity.

Yep. FigDj sounds right. Mine only works correctly when the steering wheel is at certain degrees of turn, otherwise it skips channels when I turn up the Vol. This is at any temp for me though.

Nothing like wanting to hear a part of a song on the stereo louder, and the %#&*%@# channel changes.

Irritating.

Does anyone else have this problem? Mine does it constantly and I think I'm gonna make an appointment to have them fix it.

Yes, I had the same problem. When I used the volume controls on the steering wheel, it would change the station as well. When I took it into the dealer he said there is a recall out on it. They fixed it for me good as new.

next time try to make sense. at least ppl understand what ur trying to say, but the way you say it, it sounds like everythings workin, but you think that the buttons shouldn't do what they're supposed to for some reason.

Only pointing this out b/c if nobody had experienced the same thing, your question could be taken for a joke, a sarcastic way to show appreciation for our steering wheel controls

Mine doesn't do that but it gets kinda stupid. After I manually adjust the bass or the treble and I try to press volume up to turn up the station sometimes it mutes.

Yep, me too. I talked to the dealer today and he said it was a recognized problem and should take about 1.5 hours to fix. I'll repost next week after the work is done. Wish me good luck letting the dealers "technicians" have at it.

Dealer fixed mine. They took apart the steering column or something and found that the wires for the audio controls were loose, so they either resoldered them or tightened them. Works solid now.
