Steering Wheel Buttons?

Hey everyone,
I'm putting an aftermarket head unit into my 00 TL and want the volume up and down buttons on the steering wheel to remain functional. I already know what to do, but was wondering if anyone knew the color code for the wires and/or where they're connected (Equalizer?).

Thanks

I'm putting in a pioneer 3100 DVD system. It has an input for a wired remote which is where I want to route the volume up, volume down, and change preset (this will become a mute) buttons. All I need is for each button to provide the correct resistance when pushed and the system will perform the action it associates with that resistance. What I would like to know before I start the switch is what is the wire colors for those buttons are and where they enter the stock sound system. (If I know the colors I could probably figure that out) I would like everything planned in advance so I can do the whole switch rather quickly. Thanks

Thanks for your response, I have actually seen those but the reviews said that they tend to lag. I figured this had something to do with the fact that you programmed a (probably slow) circuit as opposed to a direct interface. How responsive is yours?

Yeah since its only three buttons I want to just do it directly with my own resistors as that should make it faster. So do you happen to remember what color the button wires were when you did the swap and do you remember if they went into the equalizer or the actual head unit?

Yeah I think I'll take the controls apart when I get the chance and take a look at the buttons because I've also been assuming that they are just simple buttons. Thank you for your input.

It is in pin #3. Usually a green wire with red stripe. The delay was done purposely so the vehicle doesn't immediatly send the wrong comand to the HU.

Mind posting a DIY when you're done. I'd rather splice a few wires than buy a $70 adapter.

I'd be interested in this also. I have my Kenwood Double-DIN I'll be changing over from my Accord to my new CL and really want to complete the buttons this time, as I was to lazy and cheap to buy the adaptor for the Accord. I figure it would be nice to have one less thing to fumble with as now I'll be shifting while driving too! Thanks.
