I am a newby to this forum and I joined up in hopes that someone could help me. I help manage the owners forum / message board for MasterCraft Boats and it amazes how much they all help each other out - hoping for the same here.

As an avid Honda and Acura fan, I recently bought a 2003 Acura MDX for my wife. The car is absolutely perfect except for one anomaly - the audio controls on the steering wheel don't work as they should. You go to turn the volume up, it bumps the CD to the next track. You go to turn it down, it actually turns it up. And above all there is no ryhme or reason to it at all - it will work correctly some of the time and then it will go back to the craziness at other times.

I have googled this till I am blue in the face and the latest solution I can seem to find (which evidently did not work for most of the posters) was from 2005. I am hoping someone here might have more info since there has been a two year lapse in information... BTW, the solution was to replace the entire steering wheel unit but according to these guys, the problem creeped back after 4 - 6 months.

Any insight or help you can provide would be appreciated.

There's a TSB on this. It in involves making dimples around the steering wheel ring to ground the switches better. I had it done on my car. The controls were doing the same thing. Do a search on the CL portion of the board there should be more info to it.

I am new to this forum, i live in sydney australia and i have the similar problem on my HONDA MDX 2003, is there any suggestion to fix this problem

I really love the MDX a very smooth performer, its just this audio controls that are irritating me. appreciate if you can help or where to look for help
