OK, went looking at speakers today too. Got another 1K for these.

I see many people have been replacing the stocks with the Alpines.

Don't know much about brands and quality of speakers, but what about the following, any one better than the other?

JL Audio
Focal
Infinity

Depending on the model line up, for a front set of components w/ crossover, I am looking between 2-400 for the front set
Rear doors, regular 6.5's are around 150-300 per set
and rear deck 6X9's I am lookin at 150-400, again, depending on the level/ model I choose.

Any inputs? I am looking for a really clear crisp sound, but not looking to pay 1K for each speaker.....which they tried to sell me!

 

depending on how 'risk' taking you may be, look on ebay. it may sound fishy, but you can get realllly good prices on speakers there. i got my type r components for 119, and i think they cost somewhere around 200 or so... and they came new in box. makes me wish i never bought my 6x9s at CC cause i coulda saved like 50 bucks if i had bought from ebay... just some food for thought.

 

I would go with Infinity there. Can never go wrong with anything in the Harman Kardon name.
BTW, ebay is the place to go.
