6 x 9 will take alot of custom work won't they? The rear doors are the same size as the front and the rear deck, if I am not mistaken, would take some cutting for 6 x 9 to work.

If you are sticking with headunit for power, I would look at something that is very effecient. Infinity's and Polk are just that. If you want to add an amp, look at components, if you can. I love Diamond but, there are tons of good ones. So much depends on what you want to spend. For $500, you could get a good 4 channel amp and a set of Diamond M661 components for the front. The rear speakers are not as important. Just a suggestion though. Find a local place and listen to as many as you can.

Now, now shawhite, play nice. 6 x 9 were all the rage back in the 80's. Jensen Triaxials baby, woohoo.

You are soooo right. Infinities are just average nowadays. Definitely much better speakers out there for the same money.

ok, i'm familiar with Polk Audio and agree they make a great speaker, in fact i used to have a pair of bookshelf speakers made by them. not sure who sells them around here though so i could go listen to them.

the db650 fits well into our TL's? doesn't look like there is a 6.5 db series speaker that is a 3-way like the Infinity Kappa 63.5i

those are nice, but i dont really want to have the component ones. plus i'd like to listen to them first before i would consider chosing the Polk's over the Infinity's, just given my preference. i looked on the Polk Audio website and they say that Circuit City and HiFi Buys are dealers, but both those places locally have less than satisfactory demo setups to say the least, so i may have to go over to ATL just to hear them...

Fsttyms1,

Would these be good to use for both Front and Rear? Or just front?

Amp suggestions to run these?

You don't have to get components for the back.

Try these for the rear speakers if your going to go for polk DB's.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9a8vB5J...&avf=N&search=

Since the sensitivity on these speakers is 92db, you won't need much amplifier power to make them get loud. Any decent 4 channel amp will do, whatever you can get the best deal on.
