Does anyone know if the large electronics stores have spacers or if there is a website I can order some from? I got a component set (Polk db 6500) and I obtained some 1/4" spacers from a local car stereo install place but the holes don't line up with the mounting holes on the Polks. Near my house is: Best Buy, Circuit City, Ultimate Electronics - huge shopping are in Frisco prolly has more. I don't think Polk makes this type of product. Any suggestions other than making my own out of wood?

 

You might be able to try Crutchfield.

Also, try the car audio installation shops...Best Buy, Circuit City, Magnolia HiFi, CarToys, etc. I'm sure they'll sell you some for a couple of bucks.

 

cant you drill holes in your spacers?

 

Cannot drill holes - the spacers are a ring of plastic with 3 mounting/screw hole places that stick out from the ring - nowhere to drill...

The car audio shop that I got these from was a fairly high end type of place, although most of their stuff was heavy duty subs/amps - they said they usually custom make spacers with wood (MDF?) - had these plastic ones lying around so they gave them to me. I can make wood ones, but due to the possibility of moisture I'd prefer plastic. Luthier - thanks for the email---Brian
