Speaker Size Fit Question??

Hi all,

I know that our cars (2002 Acura 3.2TL Type S) have 5 1/4" speakers in the front door and rear deck, plus the Bose subwoofer (I'm assuming it's an 8").
Also, according to Crutchfield, we have some 5 1/4" speakers in our kick panels or something?? So 7 speakers total including the sub. Hoping someone can clear that up.

Here's my real question though:
Could I fit 6 1/2" speakers in the front doors and rear deck, specifically either one of these two? Both are technically 6 3/4" speaker sets

(What I had in my Intrepid. Perfect High/Mid.

(Next best option)

I just really don't want to be stuck with 5 1/4" speakers if I dont have to.

From: Baja, México.
We got 5 Speakers in total...
4 in Doors and 1 Subwoofer don't believe in Crutchfield they sometimes F* Up.

5 1/4 will fit with Minor mods
6 1/2 will fit with Major mods (Including a self-made bracket for speaker to door) the plastic thingy can only hold 5 1/4s..

Also High End speakers have a big fat Magnet and you should check for clearance with our windows.. Too deep and you'll hit the glass, Too high and you will have trouble fitting the kick panel without cutting it.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to end up doing some custom work then. I just personally can't stand the midrange capabilities of 5 1/4" speakers

Im going to put 6 1/2" Alpine SPR60C speakers in the front door.
I'll probably mount them shallow to keep from hitting the window, and use a plastic/wooden bracket to mount them. Then I'll just make a cutout in the mesh covering them to have the speaker and speaker grille fit through exactly.

I'll put 5 1/4" SPR50s in the rear doors. No need for tweeters back there. Will just need to adjust some power levels when I hook up the 4channel in a few months.

Had to save $$$ so I'm downgrading to a Kenwood DDX790 instead of the Kenwood DNX890HD like originally planned. I'll just use the GPS map app with it since I have unlimited data.
I'll post some progress pics soon. Hoping to have this done before I go to FL next week
