speaker recommendations

i'll be getting an AM (pioneer deh-p860mp) deck soon, and i'd like new speakers to go along with it. i probably wont be amplifying or getting a sub in the near future, so here's what i'm looking for...

1. 5.25" component system in the front... good quality, but not too expensive (under 150)

2. 6x9's that are relatively cheap that can just pump out some rear fill and decent bass to make up for the lack of a sub for awhile.

this is all for a first gen cl... thanks for any help in advance.

I'm not very confident you can get good-quality seperates for less than $150.

You would be better off with a higher-end coax - but I wouldn't run many of those off of deck power.

Maybe just get MB Quart Discus coaxes front and rear?

you can look for a Alpine Type R 5.25" component set. tweeter design is similar to what eld use to have that were made by scan pee (sp?). they run about 169.99 .. might want to try out .. www.ikesound.com somettimes you can find stuff there cheaper than onlinecarstereo.com

I would differ on that... I have Type X's from last year and the tweeter was replaced with a lower cost one this year, but the Type X is a much higher priced kit anyway.

Save your money with the back speakers and get a nice from component set. Spend the extra money there..

Nothing you buy will sound very good running off a HU.

If you buy even a real crappy amp to power them it's still way better then the HU.
