Sound issues when I hit Bumps!!

Hey Kids,

This sucks. In my 01' CL I have a 5 channel Alpine V12. When ever I hit a bump or turn really fast the sound goes "full" for a few seconds, I lose bass output, then it goes back to normal. I also have major line noise.

I'm guessing it's my amp. A few weeks ago when I would turn my system on I wouldn't get any sound, just a loud and constant thumping noise. It was discovered on Channles 1 and 2, when I switched to "High Pass" the issue would go away and I was able to hear music.

Any ideas you may have would be very helpful. I am not sure if it's the amp, the wiring (lose or something) or a combination of the two.

I will take it to the Pro Shop that installed it when I've the chance.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds funky! I bet it's the wiring (short somewhere). It doesn't sound like a common Alpine issue. Good idea to take it back to the guys that installed it.

HIt the amp with your fist or a rubber mallet and see if you can re-create it.

Did you install it yourself? Could be a loose connection or the amp itself.

I've tried shaking the car with no luck. It's so annyoing. It must be a wire issue, because I didn't have any wire noise until after the issue with channel 1 and 2. I will have the wires checked out first. Then if the amps still an issue, I will have it replaced.

Sounds like a wiring issue.

Do you have any other amps? Are you having any problems with them too?

Where is your amp mounted?
If it's on the back of the seat. Make sure that when you fold the seat up the wiring is getting stretched or pulled.

I would definitely check your ground first. Maybe even your RCA's. Make sure the RCAs plugs are not getting bent at a weird angle.
